Private tour – 16 Days exploring Vietnam Central Highlands

On arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be met by our representative with a welcoming board, then be transferred to your hotel. The rest of day is at your leisure. We recommend that you pay a visit to The Ben Thanh market. It is the biggest in Ho Chi Minh and you will find plenty choices of Vietnamese handicrafts, local delicacies, garments and small souvenirs. Other popular shopping places are Saigon Square 1 (Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street) or Saigon Square 3 (Hai Ba Trung Street). Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

After breakfast you will be picked up from the hotel to depart for Cai Be on the Mekong River. You board your comfortable wooden river cruise vessel around noon. After a refreshing welcome drink get shown the on-board facilities and your cosy cabin. As lunch is served, the boat starts cruising. Sit back and watch the fantastic scenery and the daily life of the Mekong people. In the afternoon you can disembark for a guided leisurely stroll through a village and the surrounding fruit orchards or rice fields. Meet the friendly locals and taste the local produce and fruits. Get back on board and enjoy a drink at the bar or relax on deck as the sun sets over the magnificent water landscape of the Mekong River. The cruise boat will anchor for the night. The day ends with a delicious onboard dinner. You stay overnight on board your floating hotel in the Mekong Delta.

Wake up well rested to the sound of the river and get ready for another exciting day of sightseeing in the MekongDelta. At 6.30h the cruise vessel sets off for a sunrise cruise. Watch the locals go about their daily work drying exotic fruits and building ships on the wooden yards while enjoying an early breakfast. After breakfast, we will board a sampan boat to Cai Rang floating market, the region’s busiest and most lively markets. On even dates, you will explore the small channels of the mekong delta around Cai Be with a small sampan or by foot. Marvel at the sheer abundance of exotic fruits, vegetables and skilfully handcrafted regional products. We will pull up to the boats for talking and bargaining with the merchants. We will also visit some of the local candy and cake making factories or boat through the green water landscape to see some local houses, verdant orchards and ship-building yards. After, disembark from your ship and be met and transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Today we leave the hustle and bustle Ho Chi Minh City behind, and fly to Buon Ma Thuot, one of the biggest cities in the Central Highlands. Landing to Buon Ma Thuot, you would be met and whisked to your hotel for check-in. The remaining is at leisure. You might want to either enjoy a cup of Vietnamese coffee filter and marvellous view from the rooftop bar or stroll around the town for a glance. Overnight in Buon Ma Thuot.

The tour guide picks you up at 8:00 and proceed to the Lak Lake which is the second biggest freshwater lake of Vietnam and 50 km far away from Buon Ma Thuot. The Lak Lake plays a critical role in locals’s livelihood. When reaching the lake, you will take a guided walk through villages and chat with the Mnong there to learn about locally Mnong minority’s culture, customs and tradtions. Spend some times to enjoy elephant riding or wooden boat cruising on the Serepok River (Optional activities). Return to Buon Ma Thuot for the overnight stay.

Breakfast at hotel. 8:00. Drive upwards to the North. After 6-hour drive along the national road 14, you will reach Kon Tum province for an overnight stay. The remaining is at leisure. Overnight in Kon Tum.

Breakfast at hotel. 8:00 AM, you will be picked up and driven to Kon Du village (40 km), from here we start trekking to foot of mountain (countryside road 6 km) picnic lunch in the nature, then sort trekking in the thick jungle (1 hours). Trek to small cottage. Dinner & sleep in the small cottage.

Note: Travelers should bring individual sleeping bag and drinking water for an overnight in the cottage.

9: 00 walking in the mountain rainforests (3 hour), lunch in the nature, then walk back to the village of Kon Du (rural roads-6 km). Car pick-up at Kon Du village and transfer to Kon Tum. (40 km). Leisure time.

After breakfast, heading to Pleiku. En-route, visiting Pleikep village to learn about the Jarai’s culture especially the wooden statues of the graveyard, Roong House, watering spring place where people get water or freshen up, and their daily life. Continue to see Ialy Hydro Power Plant. Lunch in Pleiku. In the afternoon, visit green tea plantation, Buu Minh pagoda, Sea Lake – natural lake which is situated on the crater of a volcano of million years of ages. Free time to explore Pleiku at night. Overnight in Pleiku.

Today the tour guide and the driver take you to Kon Ka Kinh National Park where you can explore about diversify oftrees. Trekking about 03km to see the palace named “ king of banian trees” with banian tree around 100 years. Trekking about 06 km to visit waterfall. Have pinnic lunch in the forest. Then visit protect and research wild animal. Transfer back to Pleiku for th overnight stay.

Free time until being picked up for your onward flight to Da Nang. On arrival, the drive will transfer you to hotel in Hoi An (approximately 40 minutes). Overnight in Hoi An.

Free time until being picked up for your onward flight to Hanoi. On arrival, the driver will transfer you to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. We recommend you to take a slow walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, which is very scenic, so remember to bring your camera. In walking distance from your hotel, you can go to Thang Long theatre where you can enjoy traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Another option is to do some shopping, you will find plenty of shops in the old town as well as the street night market. Should you wish to taste famous Vietnamese coffee, you will find many coffee shops in the French style with a view toward the lake. Overnight in Hanoi.
